Today, my Photo Essay class (taught by none other than Greer Muldowney ) met down at the Panopticon Gallery and had a nice discussion with the gallery’s owner and director Jason Landry. Jason was kind enough to talk about the current exhibitions up including Harold Feinstein’s A Retrospective and Stephen Sheffield’s work. He also gave us some important pointers on Photography as an industry. If you get a chance, go to the gallery and check out the work. Its located INSIDE the Commonwealth Hotel right outside the Kenmore Train Station.
I almost forgot! This past friday, September 14th, the Panopticon Gallery had two exhibition receptions showcasing Harold Feinstein and Stephen Sheffield’s photographs. Majority of Feinstein’s photographs included his work on Coney Island. Very impressive body of work. Sheffields work was a couple different projects. I had a chance to see his Fenway collage at the Griffen Gallery when they had their 100 years of Fenway, but it was really interesting to see the rest of his work. I REALLY enjoyed his gelatin silver prints. Overall, it was a fantastic time and I cant wait to see what the Panopticon Gallery plans on putting up next.
