The PRC is having a lecture series titled “2012 Master Lectures” and tonight, Henry Horenstein was the first to kick it off. He talked for about an hour, starting off with how he got interested in photography, to his inspiration and influences, to his current photography books. One book, or series of photographs, that really stuck out to me was his “Close Relations” work. This work focused on his family and friends at a familiar time and dealing with the aspects of “leaving” and beging a family of your own. Above are the print out from the lecture along with some of the images from that book. The work really stuck me as relatable because of the work I have been doing with my Mimi and Papas house. I feel that this will influence some and spark ideas for new photographs.
