Right now, Bruce Davidson’s “East 100th Street” is showing at the MFA. I had the pleasure of going last week and viewing these photographs for the first time. They are absolutely fantastic. He photogrpahed everyday, for two years straight and you can see the progression through the photos. He gets closer and closer to his subjects, families living in this poverty stricken block of New York. Davidson portrays these families not as a ‘pity me, I live in poverty’ but in an extremely proud way. You can see that they have made due and are proud of living in their homes. So hats off to you Mr Davidson.
